PUSH511’s May Personal Training Spotlight is Laura! Laura began working with PUSH personal trainer, Andy, in March 2022. After adopting a consistent workout routine at PUSH, Laura has become stronger both mentally and physically, which has helped her in and outside of the gym. Read on to see what Laura’s wellness path has looked like!

When did you start personal training with PUSH511? I started personal training with PUSH511 approximately one year ago.

What’s your fitness background? I played basketball in elementary, middle, and high school, and I typically run about 20 miles a week.

What’s your favorite movement to do in the gym? I love anything that involves hard cardio.

What’s your least favorite movement? I hate hanging.

What do you do for work? I am a second-grade teacher and an adjunct professor.

Tell us a little about yourself and your family. My family of four (including myself, my brother, mother, and father) is very close-knit. We’re multi-generationally American with southern roots, and my dad’s also retired Air Force.

Tell us something we don’t know about you. I’m a Girl Scout Gold Award recipient, and I was born in Minot, North Dakota.

How has working out & personal training affected your life outside the gym? Working out and personal training has helped me push myself physically and mentally. I feel invincible after conquering a tough workout!

What do you enjoy most about PUSH? I love my trainer, Andy! He’s awesome, and under his guidance, I’ve become a better athlete. He really monitors my form! Give him a raise, y’all! Haha!

What tips would you offer someone who is just getting started with working out? Drink lots of water and be consistent.

What’s your favorite song to work out to? I love any song that’s fast-paced. I’ve even worked out to Vivaldi’s Storm on repeat.

What’s your favorite restaurant? My favorite restaurant is Carrabba’s.

Who’s your hero (real or fictional)? My parents are my heroes. They’re amazing!

What does your frequently used emoji tab look like? I frequently use the hug emoji.

Words to live by or favorite quote? My favorite quote is “Energy and persistence conquer all things.” -Benjamin Franklin

What’s your favorite travel spot? My favorite destination is London, England. I’ve been several times, and I’m headed there for Spring Break this year.

If you could win an Olympic gold medal for any sport, real or fake, what would it be? I would love to win an Olympic gold medal for Quidditch. I’d be a tough beater.

What’s your hidden talent? I’m not sure if it’s a hidden talent, but I have a very strong sixth sense.
