Josh Brolin Just Posted a Full Nude From the Set of ‘Outer Range’

Josh Brolin has just upped interest in the second season of his Amazon Prime drama series Outer Range in a creative way—by posing fully nude on Instagram.

The actor shared the photo and teased that Season 2 will feature a nude scene, and hinted that the next chapter of the speculative Western will take the story in a “different direction” than fans might expect.

“Prepping for a scene for “Outer Range” Season 2,” he wrote. “We are taking things in a different direction now. It’s a shifting world and we have to be sensitive to all. Power of example is everything, so examples we are. We aren’t supposed to post photos from the show but this isn’t really during the show, but rather lunch outside in the beautiful Santa Fe desert. Thank you @brianbowensmith for documenting our most private moments on the set.”

The photo garnered some wide-ranging comments from Brolin’s famous pals, including Luke Hemsworth, who wrote: “Do you know the song ‘your balls r hangin through the old cane chair?’ Hum a few bars and I’ll see if I can pick it up.”

Outer Range has been compared to the unavoidable Western drama behemoth Yellowstone, but with some trippier science fiction elements. When viewers were first introduced to the world of Outer Range in Season 1 last year, Brolin’s character Royal Abbott and his rancher family seemed to have a lot in common with the Dutton dynasty of Yellowstone.

“He’s created a foundation that’s all about selflessly protecting his family,” Brolin told EW. “But because of holding onto secrets, that foundation is precarious and fragile. When he’s hit by this unknown thing, that foundation goes crumbling.”

That familiar-enough tone soon shifted drastically with the arrival of a mysterious outsider played by Imogen Poots. (No spoilers here, as it’s best to go into Outer Range knowing as little about the plot as possible.)
