SVU’ Star Mariska Hargitay Set Fans Off With Rare Instagram of Her Husband

MARISKA HARGITAY RECENTLY took some time away from social media, but her first post back on Instagram left everyone giddy with excitement over who she was with.

Despite sharing videos from directing an episode of Law and Order: SVU season 24 and posting a throwback photo with her childhood best friend, Hargitay doesn’t often share private time with her family. But on March 18, she surprised her followers when she uploaded a rare selfie with her husband Peter Hermann. The couple seemed to be on a tennis-themed date night as they attended the 2023 BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California. What’s more, she slyly disclosed in the hashtags that they watched Carlos Alcaraz Garfia beat Jannik Sinner in the semifinals as he worked his way up to win the tournament.

While Hargitay didn’t necessarily caption the surprise photo with Hermann, she did share how much the duo loves tennis. Among other hashtags, she added: “???????? #saturdate,” “#thehermanns” and “#tennisisforlovers ♥️.”

Given how Law and Order: SVU fans haven’t seen Hargitay on their TV screens for the past month—the NBC show was on a break—they got excited seeing what she was doing with her time off. What’s more, many immediately began reacting to the couple’s snap giving insight into their lives offscreen.

“Thank you for blessing us with this #Petska picture! ❤️❤️,” one person wrote on Instagram, referencing the couple’s relationship name. “Thank you, this hiatus has been brutal — I missed your face ????????,” another agreed. “Great photo! You two always look amazing together. ❤️,” a different user added.

Now, that fans know where Hargitay and Hermann have been, many are anxious to see the actress return to nighttime television as Captain Olivia Benson. While the last episode aired at the end of February, new episodes are returning tonight on March 23 at 9 p.m. ET.
