Following a terminal cancer diagnosis, 13 year-old Connor McGrath, a massive Deadpool fan, contacted the Make-A-Wish foundation hoping to see a Deadpool special screening taking place prior to the film’s full release. Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, touched by Connor’s story, later traveled to Edmonton, Canada to give Connor a private screening; making him the first person ever to see the film in its entirety.
Throughout the course of filming, Reynolds continued to visit critically ill children in costume through a partnership with the foundation.
