‘American Idol’ Star Luke Bryan Called Out Taylor Swift Over Her ‘Eras’ Tour on TikTok

Luke Bryan is no stranger to stirring up drama with his funny antics. But when he recently called out a music icon, it was for a more heartfelt reason.

During a March performance for his Live in Las Vegas residency, the American Idol judge started a conversation with the audience about Taylor Swift’s The Eras tour. The “Anti-Hero” singer was set to perform at the Allegiant Stadium for two nights, which coincided with Luke’s own concert dates. Instead of getting upset about potentially being trumped by one of the world’s most famous musicians, he spoke about how excited he was to have her in the area.

“I’m under the impression that y’all have [tickets to] Taylor’s Saturday night show,” he told the audience in a video posted on TikTok. “I was flying out here and they’re like, ‘You know Taylor’s playing in the stadium.’ I was like, ‘Oh s—. I gotta sell tickets against Taylor?”

What’s more, he pulled a surprise move as a means of supporting Taylor. “Nah, it’s awesome,” he concluded before singing her hit “You Belong With Me” while playing the piano.

Reacting to the country singer embracing the unique crossover, fans were overjoyed seeing his positive response. Many let him know how much they loved it in the comments section.

“I love seeing the support for @taylorswift, this is awesome!” one person wrote. “ICONS SUPPORTING ICONS,” a different user exclaimed. “This is the most chaotic supportive energy I’ve seen in a while!! I love it!!” another follower added.

Some folks may be surprised by Luke’s public appreciation for the Grammy Award-winning artist. His public display checks out though, as he and Taylor have actually performed together onstage. Back in September 2013, she surprised Nashville concertgoers by bringing him out for a duet of his hit “I Don’t Want This Night to End” off his 2011 album Tailgates & Tanlines.
