THERE’S NEVER a bad time to talk about Bad Bunny’s style. And after tonight’s Met Gala red carpet, that’s all we want to talk about. Fresh off two headline-making weekends at Coachella, the rapper showed up in an all-white look by Jacquemus, tailored to perfection with a several foot long train behind him.
The custom fit evoked Karl Lagerfeld perfectly. Between the single-breasted blazer, the thick tie, and all the tweed, Bad Bunny and Jacquemus redesigned the iconic vocabulary of Chanel, making it specific to Bad Bunny’s, well, specific coolness—without sacrificing the pillars of Karl Lagerfeld’s vision.
As Vogue host Derek Blasberg remarked earlier tonight—Karl Lagerfeld loved monochrome. Bad Bunny nailed it with white-on-white—simple, elevated, and elegant. Far from boring, though, with a rose shawl that trailed several feet behind him on the red carpet.
