Costco’s food court is so renowned that people visit the store just to grab a slice of cheese pizza, a hot dog and soda combo, or one of its other affordable food court bites. But even Costco is capable of making mistakes. Its newest item has been mercilessly dragged on social media all week.
With temps heating up, Costco graciously attempted to help customers cool down with its new mango smoothie. One of the first to get their hands on the frosty drink was Laura Lamb of @costcohotfinds who did offer some praise for the smoothie.
“The Costco food court just got a mango smoothie. It’s huge. It’s delicious. It’s $2.99. It has four servings of fruit, no added sugar, additives, or preservatives. The first thing my son requested this morning was a Costco mango smoothie,” she explained in her video.
Unfortunately, the comments tell an entirely different story, with many people declaring that they couldn’t even finish their mango smoothie.
“Friend and I purchased last weekend. We both couldn’t finish it; had bitter gross taste. Will not purchase again,” one person commented.
“We didn’t like it. My 3 year old said it tasted like dirt lol,” another added.
Even Costco employees have expressed their disappointment. “I’m a Costco employee and believe me all of us were excited for this smoothie and were let down by it,” one worker wrote.
Some comments, while critical, were a bit less harsh than others.
“Honest opinion, I don’t think it’s bad, but it was too sweet and had a cardboard taste, the berry smoothie needs to come back,” one TikToker pointed out.
Will you still be trying Costco’s mango smoothie?
