Chris Hemsworth Shows Off Shredded Abs in Vacation Photos

Chris Hemsworth recently announced that he will be taking some time away from making movies, but that doesn’t mean he has stopped working out like an action hero. In fact, he is still superhero levels of shredded. The Marvel star, who is currently on vacation with his family, just posted a carousel of photos to Instagram showing off his carved muscles.

“A little fun in the sun in Spain,” he wrote in the caption of the images, which show him and wife Elsa Pataky basking in their bathing suits on a yacht, with the actor’s sculpted six-pack and defined chest on full display.

Hemsworth is looking considerably leaner these days than he did just over a year ago while filming and promoting Thor: Love and Thunder, for which he (and stunt double Bobby Holland Hanton) put on more size than ever before. That is no accident: he adjusted his training routine between Love & Thunder and action sequel Extraction 2 so that he could carve a less bulging physique.

As his trainer Luke Zocchi explained in a recent interview, Hemsworth was training for aesthetic purposes—and a brief nude scene—in Thor, while his role in Extraction 2 required a greater level of athleticism, as well as an increased focus on staying injury-free: “Extraction 2 required so much more of him physically with stunts and all the action scenes so his sessions needed to be based around recovery and really trying to look after him.”

Fitness has never just been about building a screen-ready body for Hemsworth. He is the founder of the Centr wellness app, frequently shares workouts on social media that are accessible for all ability levels, and often speaks about how working out is his key to tackling other areas of life.

“If you’re feeling flat, just get moving,” he said during one such workout video. “Movement creates motivation.”
