Chet Hanks Just Unveiled a Huge New Chest Tattoo of a Cross

Chet Hanks may have coined the term White Boy Summer, but these days he’s taking shelter from the heat in church.

The actor and rapper who sometimes goes by Chet Haze, but is best-known as being the second-youngest son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, recently revealed a huge new tattoo of a cross to signify a new chapter in his life.

Hanks went viral with his prediction for a “White Boy Summer” in 2021, piggybacking off the popularity of rapper Megan Thee Stallion, and has been known to speak in an inexplicable patois accent. But in a recent Instagram post, Hanks admitted that much of his boisterous public persona has been a fabrication, and that he’s ready to start living more authentically.

“I have been in character for as long as I’ve been in the public eye,” he wrote. “I’ve played many roles and worn many masks. Actor. Rapper. Fitness guy. Lambo guy. None of them are the real me… But the more I look around at the world I see that the world doesn’t need any more caricatures. False depictions of who we think we need to be… There’s only on thing the world needs more of and that’s God.”

Hanks, who identified as an atheist before converting to Christianity 10 years ago, went on to say that he will be dedicating his life to his faith moving forward. To represent this new beginning, he covered up an old chest tattoo of the Eye of Providence—another religious icon—with the cross, and deleted all of the existing posts on his Instagram account, even later removing the photo of his new tattoo.

““All the pain in my life has resulted from one thing — the lie of believing that my purpose is anything but just serving God,” he continued. “It’s not fully clear to me yet how I can best serve Him but I feel that this level of honesty is a starting point. And I know He will continue to reveal more.”
