Lamborghini Countach Barn Find Gets First Wash in 20 Years

Over the years Larry Kosilla has cleaned dozens of barn finds for our enjoyment on his YouTube channel. He’s a pro detailer by trade, but obsesses over finding neglected cars and bringing them back to life. This Lamborghini Countach, stored in a garage for the past 20 years, might just be the most satisfying deep-clean video he’s done yet.

Kosilla was invited by his friends at We Are Curated, a Miami dealership that specializes in unearthing barn finds and restoring them to like-new condition, to help extract a Countach that had been sitting semi-disassembled in a Connecticut garage for the past 20 years.

The owner, who bought the Lamborghini new in ’88, planned to do a full mechanical restoration on the neglected car, but never got around to it, and eventually decided to sell the car to Curated. But before it could go to the mechanic’s shop, it needed a proper cleaning to remove two decades of caked-on dust and mouse droppings. That’s where Kosilla comes in. After carefully extricating the car and trailering it to his workshop, he gets to work bringing the body and interior back to like-new condition, documenting the whole process on camera for us to soak it in.

This isn’t the first time Kosilla has cleaned a red Countach for his channel. He detailed R&T contributor Matt Farah’s 5000 S back in 2019, and applied his learnings from that experience to this newest find. During the polishing process, Kosilla points out that each body panel “has a mind of its own,” reacting differently to his polishing methods. For Kosilla, who has detailed everything from brand-new exotics to concours-level classics to grotesque cars abandoned outside for decades, it makes for a tough yet satisfying challenge. The result, as you probably expected, is an Eighties Lamborghini that looks like it just rolled off the showroom floor.
