Filming might have wrapped on the next Aquaman movie, but Jason Momoa is still very much in character; the actor just shared a video of himself stripping to the waist and completely submerging himself in freezing cold water on Instagram.
The footage was captured by Momoa’s On The Roam team during a shoot for the actor’s Mananalu bottled water brand, which is packaged in containers that don’t use any plastic. “F&@! plastic,” Momoa wrote in the caption after emerging from the spring.
Eradicating single-use plastics has long been a passion of Momoa’s, and he regularly uses his platform to bring awareness to the environmental impact that they have. In April 2019, he shaved off his trademark beard and used the moment to call attention to the issue, saying: “Most importantly, I just want to do this, to bring awareness to the plastics that are killing our planet.”
He has even been known to call out his fellow celebrities when he feels they are setting a bad example in this area, like when he held Chris Pratt to account after the actor shared a photo of himself holding a plastic bottle in a partnered post with Amazon.
“BRO you know my children and I are madly in love with you and I love everything you do,” he said. “I’m just very passionate about this single use plastic epidemic. The plastic water bottles have to stop I hope u make a reusable water bottle for amazon so we all can purchase. You’re an inspiration to many I’m one of them. I’ll send you a case of MANANALU.”
