Tom Holland Reveals ’70s Hair Transformation in ‘The Crowded Room’ Set Photos

Prepare to see Spider-Man‘s Tom Holland as you’ve never seen him before.

The actor has been getting into character while filming new Apple TV+ anthology series The Crowded Room, where he’s travelled back in time to the 1970s.

In a series of photos from the set, Holland is seen sporting long, luscious locks for his lead role as Danny Sullivan, alongside Loki‘s Sasha Lane who plays Danny’s best friend Ariana.

The character of Sullivan is loosely based on Billy Milligan, the first person ever acquitted of a crime due to a dissociative identity disorder.

The 10-part series is adapted from Daniel Keyes’ biography The Minds of Billy Milligan, while also bringing in elements of screenwriter Akiva Goldsman’s own life.

While Holland will play Sullivan, ShamelessEmmy Rossum will take on the role of Danny’s mother Candy.

The all-star cast also includes Mamma Mia‘s Amanda Seyfried as Rya, a clinical psychologist facing the most challenging case in her career, and The Sinner‘s Christopher Abbott as Stan, one of Danny’s lawyers.

Meanwhile, despite being one of Hollywood’s most in-demand young actors, Holland was unsuccessful in his mission to bring the backstory of James Bond to life.

Holland previously revealed that he pitched a James Bond origin film to Sony which, by his own admission, “didn’t really make sense”.

Elaborating more on his failed pitch while on Late Night with Seth Meyers last month, Holland said: “It didn’t work out quite as planned.

“Essentially, I’m such a big fan of James Bond. I’ve loved Daniel Craig’s movies. And I just thought: if they were to move on, it would be really exciting to see how James Bond becomes James Bond.”

He continued: “So, I pitched this idea for a movie, which is kind of a stupid idea.

“Essentially you wouldn’t tell the audience that it was a James Bond movie until the end, but from a marketing point of view, that’s a nightmare. Like, that just doesn’t make any sense.”

The Crowded Room will stream on Apple TV+.
