Spoilers follow for episode four of Obi-Wan Kenobi.
As with every prior installment, the fourth episode of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+ was stuffed with blink-and-you’ll-miss-it allusions to wider Star Wars lore. Fortunately, a new video on the Heavy Spoilers YouTube channel has identified all of the Easter eggs with helpful context.
Following the climactic battle between Obi-Wan and Darth Vader in episode three, we see Obi-Wan in a regenerative tank similar to those which both Vader and Boba Fett have been depicted in. It could simply be a recurring visual motif in the Star Wars shows, or it could be hinting at the duality between Obi-Wan and his former apprentice.
Other visual callbacks in the episode include: the holographic projection of Obi-Wan and Leia’s escape route, which uses identical-looking technology to the Death Star plans seen during Mon Mothma’s briefing in Return of the Jedi; Obi-Wan’s underwater breathing apparatus which harks back to Naboo in The Phantom Menace; and Obi-Wan sneaking around past Stormtroopers in the hallways of an Imperial base, which has been a Star Wars staple ever since A New Hope.
The animated Star Wars mythology is also included in this episode, with several planets which first appeared in The Clone Wars being mentioned by Reva and Tala respectively, and the episode even pays homage to some images from the Fallen Order game; specifically, when Obi-Wan uses the Force to telekinetically prevent water from flooding the tunnel.
