We try not to be too bold here at Men’s Health, but I’d like to make an appeal for an official movement: can we make whatever day the FBoy Island finale airs, annually, a national holiday? There have been two seasons of HBO Max’s delightfully self-aware and utterly juicy dating competition so far, and both have delivered absolute top-notch smooth brain television. We should all gather once a year to take it all in.
At the end of Season 2, one of the show’s three contestants, Mia Emani Jones—a Delaware native dental student currently based out of Tampa, Florida—found herself facing a tough decision. After playing out the season-long dramatic see-saw between FBoys and self-proclaimed “Nice Guys,” she found herself with a final two that consisted of two charming fellas: Season 1 returnee Peter Park, and Staten Island’s own Danny Louisa. There was just one catch—the two gentlemen were both FBoys, giving either the option to potentially take the full $100,000 prize for themselves, rather than splitting it with her.
The choice was a difficult one to predict; Mia was attracted to Peter as a fan watching Season 1 of FBoy Island, and immediately gravitated toward him when the season began, but she also grew very close to Danny throughout the season. When Mia was having a panic attack, it was Danny who came to comfort her.
At the end of the day, though, Mia put her best foot forward and made her choice: Peter Park. Danny didn’t take the decision well, and told Mia straight up: he was worried for her sake that Peter was going to take the money all for himself.
Luckily, Danny was wrong, and at the end of FBoy Island Season 2, Mia and Peter appeared to be happily together, alongside Louise and Mercedes. But did it last? Well…
Are Mia and Peter from FBoy Island Season 2 still together?
They…are….drumroll please………not still together. “Peter and I right now are very much…” she started telling Variety in a post-mortem FBoy Island interview before trailing off. “What would we call it? Friends. I talk to Peter maybe once or twice a month. But we both understand the current situations—he lives in D.C. and I’m in Miami for dental school. So it just wasn’t gonna work out, because we’re both F-People.”
She does seem to have more of a relationship with her runner-up, Danny Louisa, despite their rough parting of ways in the Season 2 finale. “We fell off a little bit after the show, because obviously, I didn’t split the money with him,” she said. “And that kind of hurt his feelings, because he actually cares about me. But I think I can say that Danny and I are friends. We talk almost every day. But who knows?”
Upon closer inspection, Mia’s remarks tend to check out. If you take a look at her recent Instagram posts, many have regarded FBoy Island. But you would be hard pressed to find a single comment from her selection, Peter Park, aka @thekoreanpapi.
However, on the above post—captioned “Who do you love ? #fboyislandonmax #fboyisland #niceguy #fboys #exboyfriends“—you can find a comment from Danny.
“Sharing is caring,” he wrote, adding a couple emojis.
We’re not going to be suckers and read too much into this, because we know there’s a lot going on off-camera on FBoy Island that we’re not seeing. That’s clear when reading Louise’s reaction to Mercedes’ in-show behavior. But…it’s a nice sign. Maybe there’s a future for Mia and Danny after all? Or maybe not. FBoy Island, you forever tantalize us.
