Madonna is bringing roller skating back! In new photos, the Queen of Pop revealed her epic legs while wearing fishnets and a miniskirt during a quick skate around the rink. She may have brought a friend (or two) to join in the fun, but this singer is absolutely killing it on her own with a ‘fit to last the decades.
The 63-year-old “Madame X” singer looks like she is enjoying NYC’s summer heat as she hits the skating rink in Central Park for DiscOasis, which is described as a “glittering sonic fantasia for the soul,” by the rink’s site. That just sounds like a place Madonna would enjoy.
She even posted about it on Instagram, with the caption, “Finally Enough Love at the Disco Oasis with Nile Rodgers!!”
Skating is as much a fun, nostalgic activity as it is a workout. You might not know that you burn almost as many calories on skates as you do running.
Clearly, Madonna didn’t miss the opportunity to add a little something-something to her leg day routine.
When she takes off the skates, Madonna is a big fan of Pilates. According to her IG, she works out on a reformer machine to strengthen her thighs and glutes. She also incorporates her arms for that full-body burn.
No surprise here, but this performer is also a big fan of dancing. Her personal trainer, Marlyn Ortiz, is a dancer, choreographer, and aerialist, so Madonna gets all the best moves.
Madonna and Ortiz even quarantined together in 2020. They used the time to rehab Madonna’s knee injury and hip replacement. Clearly, a lot of foam rolling was involved.
Madonna commented on how her body has changed in the past few years: “I used to be, like, a fitness/workout maniac…I don’t know if you’ve noticed it, but I’m limping a lot,” she told Newsweek in 2021. She also said that she was “in more pain than I’ve ever been in in my life.”
But her pain doesn’t slow her down! She posted a photo on Instagram about her surgery scars, calling herself a “warrior.” So true.
Nothing is getting between Madonna and her physical activity. Love to see you thriving, Madame X!
