When Yellowstone comes back with season 5 later this fall, there’s no doubt all eyes will be on Jamie (Wes Bentley) and the consequences he’ll be facing after betraying his family. But now, folks are concerned the Paramount Network drama is dropping hints that the Duttons might give the politician a second chance.
In search of Yellowstone season 5 updates, fans headed over to the show’s Instagram and stumbled across a familiar but eerie scene between Jamie and Kayce (Luke Grimes). In the short clip, Kayce tells Jamie that their dad, John (Kevin Costner), wants him to become attorney general and help protect the family’s land.
“He wants you, Jamie,” Kayce says in the snippet. “Only people you can trust is family.”
What’s more, the Instagram video’s caption drives home the message about having faith in others. “Who can you trust?” it read.
Unfortunately, this throwback scene didn’t go over well with Yellowstone fans who are still reeling from Jamie’s disloyalty. Viewers may recall that the eldest child always felt like a black sheep until he figured out that he wasn’t actually John’s son. After turning his back on the Duttons and trying to reconnect with his biological dad, he ended up with blood on his hands.
Turns out, folks haven’t forgotten about these events. “You can trust everyone but Jamie,” one person wrote in the Instagram comments section. “I would trust Kayce with my life, but not Jamie ????,” another added. “Start season 5 already!!! And I hope Beth eliminates him!” a different fan said.
Still, others are counting down the days until they can see how Jamie and Kayce’s storylines unfold. “Looking forward to November to watch all the surprises the brothers have in store for us. ????????,” a follower commented.
So, will Jamie get a second chance? The odds aren’t in his favor but we do know that Kayce has a soft spot for him and he might try to help out … somehow.
