Perfect Match is the most recent addition to Netflix’s ever-expanding repertoire of reality TV programming, bringing together the flirty fun and relationship drama of dating shows like Love Is Blind and Too Hot to Handle with the competitive clashes of challenge-based elimination shows where the biggest, boldest personalities come out to play. And even though the show only just dropped its first season on the streaming platform, the cast already looked familiar when they descended on the house in Panama City: every single contestant had previously starred in at least one Netflix reality show before.
“Perfect Match brings together the most famously single stars of Netflix’s unscripted series (Love Is Blind, The Ultimatum, Too Hot To Handle, The Mole and more) to a tropical paradise in an attempt to find love,” reads the official synopsis from Netflix. “As they compete to form relationships, the most compatible couples will play matchmaker, breaking up other couples and sending them on dates with brand-new singles they’ll invite to the villa. Will they create better matches, or will they create chaos?”
Perfect Match has already given us some classic reality TV drama—not to mention the kind of bisexual representation that is usually conspicuously absent from dating shows—so it makes sense that viewers are already wondering if the series will return for a second season. Here’s everything we know so far.
Has Perfect Match Season 2 been announced?
Netflix has not yet confirmed whether it will or won’t renew Perfect Match for Season 2, although it would definitely fit with the streamer’s current game-plan of commissioning reality programming that is relatively inexpensive to film (the show uses one central location and episodes can be shot back to back in a matter of weeks).
Who could be in the cast of Perfect Match Season 2?
Nick Lachey hosted Season 1 and if the show were to be brought back, it is likely that he would too. As for the cast of singles, Netflix has a wide pool to draw on. The third season of Love Is Blind recently came to a close, and some fans think that exes Raven and SK would make for even more explosive viewing. Not to mention that Love Is Blind Season 4 is airing incredibly soon!
When is the Season 2 release date?
There’s no release date yet, of course, but given that Season 1 of Perfect Match was filmed in early 2022 and released on Valentine’s Day 2023, we’re probably in for a wait of around one year.
