With all the whispers surrounding Kevin Costner potentially leaving Yellowstone, fans keep questioning the status of when new episodes will drop. It also looks like a moment from the show echoes their sentiments, and it comes from none other than Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) himself.
In a March 7 post added to the Paramount Network series’ Instagram, the ranch hand isn’t pleased to be at a bar that his wife Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) forced him to go to celebrate a recent business deal. While she’s busy enjoying herself, Rip appears to want to be anywhere but there.
“I got about a half hour left in me of this s—,” he says to a fellow cowboy while sitting in the drinking establishment. “Patience wearing thin. #YellowstoneTV,” read the caption.
While folks may remember this scene happening only a few moments before Rip got Beth out of a bar fight, they didn’t mention it in the comments section. Instead, they noted that Rip’s seemingly short sentence spoke volumes about where Yellowstone currently stands with season 5 part 2.
“Rip speaking for the fans … ” one person wrote on Instagram. “My thoughts about them taking a long break in the middle of the season wtf?” a different user agreed. “My patience wearing thin waiting for season 5 to come out on Peacock or Paramount Plus,” another follower chimed in.
Though it’s unclear exactly when Yellowstone will be back with more episodes (we predict by the end of the year!), the show dropped a trailer in January that confirmed season 5 will pick back up in summer 2023. As far as whether that will include Kevin rejoining the Yellowstone Ranch as patriarch John Dutton, the show’s network has assured that he’s still be part of the popular drama.
“We have no news to report. Kevin Costner is a big part of Yellowstone and we hope that’s the case for a long time to come,” a Paramount Network spokesperson told Deadline.
