Are Elys and Alex Still Together?

*Spoilers ahead for Too Hot to Handle season 5*

Too Hot to Handle’s fifth season recently premiered, and the seven episodes that are out now have definitely turned up the heat. If you don’t know, the show is about a group of horny singles who believe they’re on a dating show to hook up with each other, but during the first episode it’s revealed that they’re actually on a retreat designed to help them focus on making an emotional love connection with others instead of just a physical one. Lana, the virtual assistant in control of the retreat, then reveals that there’s absolutely no kissing, sexual contact, or self-gratification allowed, and if they break the rules, money will be deducted from the total finale prize money each time they make a transgression—and this year, the pot starts at a hefty $200,000.

Once the show started, the cast agreed to keep their hands to themselves, but, as usual, that was easier said than done. Elys and her partner Hunter were actually the first ones to kiss just hours after receiving the rules, and they cost the group $12,000. But while their physical attraction was at a high, their mental connection was rather low. Lana decided to send the two on a date to see if they could connect, but her efforts were futile. While Hunter enjoyed being with Elys, Elys revealed that she wasn’t on the same page, and once offered the chance to swap Hunter out for fellow Brit Alex, she did so.

Their similar sense of humor, complementary personalities, and physical connection gave them a quick bond, but will they stand the test of time? Keep reading to find out what happened to this couple—including a record breaking kiss.

Are Elys and Alex From Too Hot to Handle Still Together?

Elise and Alex managed to keep to the rules for most of the retreat, but as they got to know each other even more, their sexual attraction grew. Things were looking up when Lana gifted the cast with watches that would turn green once she felt like they were making meaningful connections. When the watch was green, that meant that they could break the rules and kiss without having any penalty. While most of the singles were happy about this development, Elys revealed that it was hard for her to make connections, and she felt like she would never get a green light on her watch. That night, she and Alex decided to kiss for a record-breaking 12 minutes, which angered Lana, resulting in a $36,000 fine. (Apparently, the 32 rule-breaking kisses over the show’s history have averaged 1 minute and 57 seconds, which makes Elys and Alex’s kiss equivalent to over 6 kisses. #math).

Lana then put them to the test: they had 12 hours to make a meaningful connection and get a green light on their watches. If they failed, they would both be going home. Luckily, during the next date, Elys was able to express her feelings for Alex and they got to stay on the show.

But when some newcomers arrived at the house, Elys was picked to go on a date with Bryce. He was her physical type and they got along well, but when offered the chance to end their date early and swap out Elys for another girl in the house, Alex chose not to, stating that he trusts his partner. But while the episode ended on a cliffhanger and didn’t let us know if Bryce and Elys kissed, it does seem like the show may be sending us up for another juicy love triangle.
