For pretty much any actor, landing a gig in a Marvel movie is a sign that you have officially made it. Brandon Perea is no different, and he is getting creative when it comes to grabbing the attention of the Marvel Studios casting team: he just shared a compilation video to social media which highlights his lean, muscular physique—a prerequisite of any superhero actor by now.
Not to mention Perea’s array of stunt-friendly skills that he pulls off with an almost effortless-looking athleticism. First, he shows off a series of gymnastics moves, including tumbling and landings which look like something straight out of a Spider-Man movie. He also offered a look at his speed and footwork in a series of boxing drills, performed some tricks on a mountain bike, and then he did a backflip in rollerblades.
“Tell Marvel I’m comin!!!” he wrote in the caption.
At present, he can be seen in Nope, director Jordan Peele’s follow-up to Get Out and Us. When asked in a recent interview which project he’d like to be involved in next, he answered: the MCU. “I need to be there,” he told Remezcla. “I hope my performance in Nope proves that I can play a Marvel superhero. That’s what I want in my career – 100 percent.”
Specifically, Perea wants to play the character Sam Alexander, aka Nova, a fighter in the galactic Nova Force team which featured in the first Guardians of the Galaxy movie. While Ryan Gosling has previously been rumored to be attached to that role in the MCU, he has since debunked that talk as he would rather get a chance to play Ghost Rider, meaning that for all we know, Perea’s window of opportunity is wide open.
