Brie Larson Shows Off Dramatic Tattoo Transformation on Instagram

With filming wrapped on MCU sequel The Marvels, in which she reprises the role of superhero Carol Danvers, Brie Larson is now working on some very different projects. She will soon star in the TV series Lessons in Chemistry, a period piece about a female scientist bucking against 1960s chauvinism adapted from the bestselling novel by Bonnie Garmus. But in a recent Instagram post, Larson revealed a completely different look for a new mystery role.

In a carousel of images, Larson showed off a series of new tattoos, including a full sleeve on her left arm. But, probably anticipating the shocked reaction these photos would get from her followers, she reassured fans that her new ink is all fake, and captioned the image: “What it’s like you’ve never seen temporary tattoos before!”

Despite that disclaimer, comments still flooded in decrying the new look and begging Larson not to get a tattoo, although the images also provoked some pretty thirsty remarks too, with fans commenting “ON MY KNEES” and “There’s a whole new level of crush I didn’t know I could achieve and yet here we are.”

In addition to the sleeve, Larson shared a close-up of a script tattoo that reads “Don’t try to fix me I’m not broken,” a lyric from the song ‘Hello’ by the rock band Evanescence.

It’s likely that this transformation is in preparation for what IMDb lists as an as-yet-untiled C.I.A. project, in which Larson will portray the lead role, inspired by the real-life experiences of an undercover operative. Alternatively, they could be for her upcoming role in the tenth instalment of the Fast & Furious franchise, Fast X, where she will be joining the ever-expanding cast of A-listers.
