The Bear is not only one of the best shows on Hulu—it’s one of the best shows of the streaming era, period. It’s a dramedy with captivating visuals, a compelling story, and a cast that you can’t look away from. Starring Jeremy Allen White and Ayo Edebiri, the show follows Carmy, a talented chef who comes home to Chicago to run his late brother’s Italian beef sandwich restaurant. The show is hilarious when you get to see the very serious Carmy and the very unserious staff butt heads, but can also be both dramatic, following Carmy as he grapples with his late brother’s alcoholism, and the staff learn what it means to create a restaurant and cooking environment they truly care about.
All eight episodes of the Season 1 dropped at once, which could be considered a risk when testing the waters with a new show. Thankfully with a strong word of mouth, the power of the Internet, and a solid marketing campaign from Hulu, The Bear became a smash hit. Jeremy Allen White–after his longtime role on Showtime’s Shameless–has broken out even more as Carmy (likely earning an Emmy nomination for Season 1), and comedian and actress Ayo Edebiri has also become an exciting name in Hollywood. She’s yet another to prove that great comedians can also show incredible range, like Bill Hader and his surreal, experimental, one-of-a-kind show Barry.
The second season of The Bear is now officially out for everyone to binge. With each episode only half an hour, it’s hard getting attached to the characters, only for them to leave you again. So, of course, it’s only natural to think about when the next season is coming. We’ve got the most up to date information for you below.
Will there be The Bear Season 3?
Since the Season 2 only just premiered, we still don’t know if the show has been renewed for a third go-around just yet. But Season 2 has seen exceptional early reactions from both critics and fans alike, and seems on its way to becoming an even bigger sensation than the excellent first season. If this proves to truly be the case, Hulu will almost certainly give The Bear another green light.
When will Season 3 of The Bear come out?
Depending on when the show is renewed, The Bear could return sometime in 2024. The show’s return also depends on the ongoing writers’ strike, which will put any shows still in the writing stages on pause.
Assuming that all gets figured out, though, Season 3 of the bear could come out in late June, just as Season 1 and Season 2 both did.
Who will be in the Season 3 cast?
It’s safe to say Ayo Edebiri, Jeremy Allen White, and the rest of the main cast in the kitchen will return. Can we make a pitch for Will Poulter, as Luca, Copenhagen’s greatest pastry chef (and the one with the coolest hair) to make a grand return?
