Fan Theory Says Which Spider-Man Exists in the Morbius Universe

With Sony’s upcoming Morbius film directly around the corner, fans are buzzing with excitement, predictions and questions. But there’s one question that’s arguably the biggest mystery for fans: Which Spider-Man exists in the film’s universe?

Morbius, which comes out on April 1, follows the Spider-Man villain’s downward spiral from bio-chemist to bloodthirsty vampire, a self-inflicted result of the wayward doc trying to cure his own fatal blood disease. With Marvel fans anticipating the release of the film, many have questioned which cinematic universe Morbius would take place in—and if Spider-Man would exist in the world.

Well, the fans behind the YouTube channel The Marvelous Wave claim to have figured it out, putting their predictions in a jam-packed 9-minute video. The conclusion? The Marvelous Wave predicts Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man is the webhead in the Morbius universe.

When the Morbius trailer was released late last year, it all but confirmed the existence of Spider-Man in the film’s universe, given a brief glimpse of a mural of the character on a brick wall, which was marred by graffiti labeling him as a murderer. But if that wasn’t enough proof, Morbius director Daniel Espinosa spilled during a March 25 Twitter Q&A with CinemaBlend that Spider-Man is definitely roaming around the film’s realm.

When asked if there is a Spider-Man in the Morbius universe, Espinosa responded, “Of course.” When asked which Spider-Man exists in the universe, the director was vague: “It is my understanding that audiences will discover the answer soon.” Fans can only hope this means they will get an answer at the theater.
