Keanu Reeves is back in John Wick: Chapter 4. The invincible assassin first appeared in 2014, when he’s unexpectedly forced out of retirement (and his puppy is killed). He sets out to find the men who burglarized his home and return to his quiet life. But John Wick: Chapter 2 pulls him right back in, as an old friend calls in a favor and John is once again thrust into a life of violence and crime. Now, in Chapter 4, Wick is preparing to exact revenge on the High Table, the major world leaders with a grip on the criminal underworld.
Part of John Wick’s success is the incredible action sequences choreographed by Chad Stahelski and David Leitch. Stahelski also directs. And with dedicated acting from Reeves and the film franchise’s various stars (Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Ian McShane, Jason Mantzoukas), John Wick has all the best ingredients cementing it as an unforgettable action franchise.
One of the franchises’ mainstays, Lance Reddick, unexpectedly passed before the premiere of John Wick: Chapter 4. Reddick played Charon, and John Wick: Chapter 4 served as one of his final roles (he’s slated to appear once more in a John Wick spin-off Ballerina, which will star Ana de Armas). On the red carpet of the premiere, Reeves said when working with Reddick, “every day was special.” Stahelski and Reeves dedicated the film to Reddick to honor his memory, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
