AUGUST IS UPON us and the summer season is coming to a close, but the sport of fitness is just heating up. After a long wait, the 16th NOBULL CrossFit Games competition is almost here. The event promises to be one of the most accessible for fans in recent years, with multiple options to take in the action via live-stream and broadcast coverage.
The CrossFit Games will take place starting Wednesday, August 3 in Madison, Wisconsin, in front of an in-person crowd filled with the biggest fans of functional fitness. The Games runs for five days of events through Sunday, August 8. Along with the individual competition, which will see the reigning champions in the Men’s and Women’s divisions, Justin Medeiros and Tia-Clair Toomey, look to retain their titles as the Fittest on Earth, the Games will hold events for teams, masters, teens, and adaptive divisions. Overall, athletes from 120 different countries will take part in the competition.
Where to Watch the 2022 NOBULL CrossFit Games
Fans looking to watch the Games at home will be able to stream the action through a few different methods. CrossFit’s own social media channels, including YouTube, Facebook, and Twitch, will provide full coverage of the individual and team competitions, with “select coverage” of the masters, teens, and adaptive divisions. For more context about exactly what this means, CrossFit says: “Live coverage will include every heat in every event for the individual and team divisions as well as broad coverage of the age-group and adaptive divisions throughout the week, including full coverage of the age-group and adaptive finales that will crown each division’s champions, live from the Coliseum.” YouTube broadcasts will be available in five languages: English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, and Italian.
The Pluto TV Sports Channel will also have this coverage available for free (which is streamable on mobile, desktop, and smart TVs, according to CrossFit). For more in-depth event tracking, fans can also download the CrossFit Games app (for iOS and Android), which is built with features for in-person event attendees, but can also help folks at home keep tabs on the competition with leaderboards, schedule planning, and more.
Broadcast TV will also provide coverage, but only for the individual event finals on the last day of competition. That will air on CBS Television Network on Sunday, August 7, from 12 to 2 p.m. CT (1 to 3 p.m. ET; 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. PT). Check your local listings for more details.
For event details and up-to-the-minute updates, follow the official CrossFit Games accounts on Instagram and Twitter and check in on the CrossFit HQ Games homepage. The workouts tab will provide info on the specific events, particularly those for the much of the individual competition, which have yet to be announced.
