Hulk Hogan Shared a Throwback Video of His WrestleMania Training

Hulk Hogan has been indulging in some nostalgia on his Instagram lately, sharing throwbacks to his heyday as one of the most famous wrestlers in the WWE (or WWF to those who remember). In January, Hogan—real name Terry Bollea—offered his followers a chance to buy a replica of his 1987 Heavyweight Championship belt, which commemorated him holding onto the title for three consecutive years.

Elsewhere in Hulk’s “Beach Shop,” he is selling merch emblazoned with his rules for life, inspired by his catchphrases from the ring: ” Train, eat your vitamins, say your prayers, and believe in yourself… brother.”

Hogan’s most recent look back is a vintage training video from the peak of his WrestleMania career, including footage of himself doing some classic strength-building work, such as bicep curls, bench press, back squat, leg curls, shoulder press, and pullups. “Standard procedure, brother!!!” He wrote in the caption.

It’s definitely worth noting that in the video here, Hogan is showcasing a style of training that was very specific to the late ’80s and early ’90s, where there was arguably more of a focus on lifting heavy weights than there was on performing these compound exercises with proper technique. It’s highly improbably that this is how Hogan works out now; injury prevention is likely a priority given that he is 68 years old and has recovered from multiple operations.

The former wrestling icon and actor has been hard at work in the gym since his last back surgery in 2019, showing off his jacked bicep gains and claiming that he has dropped back down to his “ninth grade weight” of 275 pounds.
