Is Nope Streaming On Netflix or HBO Max? How to Watch Nope

The most anticipated film of the year is finally out. Nope, Jordan Peele’s third horror film he’s both written and directed, is in theaters as of July 21. And although there’s been a strong marketing push through trailers and viral interviews with Keke Palmer, there’s still a lot we don’t know about the creepy, ominous film that definitely involves aliens.

Starring Keke Palmer, Daniel Kaluuya (who also starred in Get Out), Steven Yeun, and Brandon Perea, Nope is one of the horror films we’ve been waiting for all year. In an interview with Fandango, Peele said he “wanted to create a spectacle.”

“So I set my sights on the great American UFO story,” he said. “And the movie itself deals with spectacle, and the good and bad that come from this idea of attention. It’s a horror epic, but it has some points in it that are meant to elicit a very audible reaction in the theater.”

Daniel Kaluuya, who worked with Peele on his first horror film, also teased the film in an interview with Vanity Fair, saying Peele has grown as a filmmaker.

“Jordan is much more assured,” said Kaluuya. “I think for a lot of first-time filmmakers, they feel like it’s going to be the last film they are going to make, no matter how talented or how prepared they are. This time he was way more confident—he has more. His vision was even bigger. Everything was more.”

How to Watch Nope

Right now, Nope is only available to watch in theaters. But, we have a good guess to where it could end up on streaming services, and when.

When Will Nope Be Available to Stream?

Since Nope was distributed by Universal Pictures (which notably is a part of NBCUniversal), it’s possible Nope could be available to stream via Peacock sometime after its theatrical release. While there’s no telling exactly when the film will come to a streaming service, back in 2021 Indiewire reported Peacock had a 45-day window for most of its major titles. That means Nope could be available to watch at home as soon as fall 2022.
