Kelly Clarkson’s new album Chemistry is coming soon. She wrote it after her divorce from Brandon Blackstock, but fans don’t have to wait for new music to hear her thoughts on the breakup.
The “Since U Been Gone” singer took the stage during her daytime talkshow for yet another iconic Kellyoke performance. This time, she did not hold back with her cover of “abdcefu” by Gayle. Some very pointed lyric changes seem to call out her ex-husband (and his dad!). The lyrics to the clean version of Gayle’s song start out, “Forget you and your mom and your sister and your job and your broke-down car and the things you call art.” Kelly put a personal twist on the first lines with her own take: “Forget you and your dad and the fact that you got half and my broken heart turn that **** into art.”
After almost seven years of marriage, Kelly and Brandon’s divorce was finalized in March 2022. The couple shares two children, Remington and River. According to People, Brandon was awarded a one-time payment of $1.3 million, plus a monthly child support payment of $45,000 and a monthly spousal support payment of $115,000.
While the divorce has been finalized, Radar Online reports that Kelly is still embroiled in a legal battle with her former management agency, Starstruck Management Group, which is owned by Brandon’s father (and Reba McEntire’s ex-husband), Narvel.
