Kendall Jenner and her NBA boyfriend Devin Booker have been together for over a year, and after months of Jenner sharing photos of them together on Instagram, Booker is ready to talk about their relationship in the press. WSJ magazine asked Booker about what it’s been like having the spotlight on his personal life, given the fact that he’s dating one of the world’s most famous women.
“I wouldn’t say [it’s been] hard,” he said. “Honestly, I’m enjoying life to the fullest, and that came off my tongue so easily because it wasn’t always this way, but I feel like I’m in a good place right now. I love my family, I love the people around me, and I love the impact that I get to have on this world, the younger generation under me and the kids who look up to me.”
He also addressed a piece of advice he’s received that’s guided him through everything. “‘Be legendary,’ the advice that Kobe had left me with in the short time I got to spend with him in our last game playing against each other,” Booker said. “He left it with a mark on my shoe and he wrote it out, Be legendary. And not only did he write it on the shoe and sign it for me, but just talking me through it and talking through the steps that it’s going to take to get there. Kobe’s always been an inspiration, so hearing it in his voice and seeing it in his handwriting on the shoes keeps me motivated.”
Jenner first spoke about Booker in June 2021, confirming he was her “boyfriend” during the Keeping Up With the Kardashians reunion special. She also addressed why she kept her relationships off the show.
“Kylie and I have had the opportunity to watch our older sisters go through marriages and relationships and breakups and all these things, and do them pretty publicly,” she said. “And no offense to you guys at all, but I think it was personal preference from a really young age that I didn’t want to [do that]. I think it makes my life a lot easier and our relationship a lot better, to be completely honest. I just feel like it’s a private matter, it’s not really for anybody else to judge or know.”
