My Adventures With Superman flew onto TV screens in July and so far has been well-received by fans of the famous Man of Steel.
The show, which is currently airing on Adult Swim and Max, takes DC’s most iconic comic book character and transposes him into a shonen manga-inspired world. My Adventures With Superman stars Jack Quaid as a young, unproven Superman, with Alice Lee as Lois Lane and Ishmel Sahid as Jimmy Olsen.
My Adventures With Superman frames Clark Kent’s story as a coming-of-age narrative, with the character pursuing his journalistic career aspirations in the big city while still learning how to control his powers and juggle his superhero duties with Daily Planet deadlines. In this way, Jack Quaid’s unsure-of-himself version of Superman has more in common with other young heroes like Peter Parker and Buffy Summers than with his live-action counterparts—and that means there is plenty more room for growth and character development in future seasons.
Will there be a Season 2 of My Adventures With Superman?
Yes! Series creator Jake Wyatt has confirmed on Twitter that Adult Swim ordered two seasons of the show, so the future is looking bright for this new interpretation of Clark Kent and friends.
When will Season 2 be released?
There’s no word yet on the production schedule for the second season, and the on-going writers and actors’ strikes will undoubtedly cause a delay. In the meantime, you can watch every episode so far on Max.
