OLIVIA WILDE GAVE showed off one of her cheekiest tattoos yet for her 39th birthday. Yep, the director took to Instagram to share the iconic butt tattoo design she’s had for approximately 26 years, which is *drumroll*…a dragon!
Though Wilde’s actual birthday was on March 10, she chose to share her hilarious tribute yesterday, writing, “39 and feeling fine. Thanks for the birthday love. I milked it for way too long and it’s been great. Here’s to whatever’s next. Probably not another tramp stamp but who knows. #shameless #howdareshe #thehorror ♥️,” alongside a black-and-white pic of herself and her friend Molly Howard on the beach.
And though her dragon ink might surprise some of her fans, the actor has actually opened up about it before—namely during a 2017 interview with Craig Ferguson, during which she confessed she actually got the tattoo when she was only 13 years old.

“I have a bad-tattoo club if you want to be in it,” the Don’t Worry Darling director said to the host. “I have a tattoo of a dragon that I got when I was 13….I was in New York City. I thought it was a great idea. [Dragons] had a lot of meaning at the time, but now it’s hideous.”
Olivia also briefly touched on the whole experience of getting it during her very early teenage years, joking, “You hand over cash, they’ll tattoo a cat, they don’t care.” After tons of banter between Ferguson and Wilde, she finally revealed the location of the tattoo: “It’s on my lower, lower, lower back…It’s not a tramp stamp! It’s over to the right. It’s an ass stamp, which is probably a lot classier,” she added with a laugh.
Interestingly enough, more recently she teased to fans that she might be going under the needle yet again. On March 14, she posted a selfie on Instagram alongside one of my personal fave celebs, Jennifer Coolidge, and captioned it, “Moving this pic to the grid and then to a chest tattoo most likely.”
I’m not not intrigued.
