Rapper Fat Joe Shared a Rare, Loving Photo With His Son Joey

Rapper, record exec and music producer Fat Joe has just shared a glimpse of himself in his favorite role: loving dad. In a rare, candid photo taken at home and posted to Instagram, Fat Joe—real name Joseph Antonio Cartagena—can be seen sharing a moment with his eldest son Joey.

Joey, who is autistic and a wheelchair user, cradles his head on his father’s chest, while Fat Joe rests his chin on Joey’s head. The image is simply captioned: “Unconditional Love- Lil Joe.”

The photo received several comments from parents of children with disabilities, praising Joe for publicly sharing such a close, loving image of the candid moment—and several of his famous friends loved the picture too.

Singer Ashanti, who collaborated with Fat Joe on the 2002 hit ‘What’s Luv?’, responded with a string of heart emojis. Joe’s fellow rapper 50 Cent commented: “”This the coolest picture you ever posted joe, on some real shit!”, while the controversial MMA fighter Conor McGregor wrote: “You are The Man Joe! True as can be!”

The View co-host Ana Navarro commented: “Out of all your roles, all the hats you wear so well, how you are as a father, is the most amazing of all.” Joe appeared on The View last year to promote his memoir and talked with Navarro then about his love for his children: 16-year-old Azariah, 26-year-old Ryan, and 32-year-old Joey, who he described as the “Don of the family.”

“He inspires me,” he told said. “He’s such a blessing in our life, he’s almost like an angel,” said the rapper. “It’s the gift that keeps giving, little Joey, and I’m so proud of him.”
