Robert Pattinson Reveals What He Really Thought About His ‘The Batman’ Training and Diet

There was a time when we were worried Robert Pattinson wasn’t working out at all to play Batman.

Thankfully, those rumors – mostly circulated by Pattinson himself – turned out to be false, and anyone who’s even seen the trailer for The Batman can clearly see he’s put a lot of work in to play the Caped Crusader. But how much did Pattinson enjoy that work and has he kept up his training since the cameras stopped rolling?

In an interview with On Demand Entertainment, Pattinson revealed all.

“Training’s a lot more fun when you get good at it,” he said. “Once you pass over the six-week mark then it’s alright, then you feel bad if you’re not doing it. It’s kind of what everyone says.

“But no matter how many times you realize: if I just maintain it it’s going to be great and I won’t have to experience the bad part again, as soon as the job’s done it’s like no. I’m not going to train once.”

While Pattinson did eventually enjoy training for his latest role, there is one thing about playing Batman that he certainly won’t miss: the diet. Superhero diets are notorious for being bland, basic and boring, and, turns out, his was no different.

“I never want to see a piece of white fish with just lemon on it ever again,” said Pattinson.

Pattinson’s co-star, Zoë Kravitz, who’s playing Catwoman in the upcoming flick, was also on hand to explain what it’s really like to play an iconic character in a superhero movie.

“Three months of training beforehand and then you have to keep it up,” said Kravitz, “so you literally just film and train. That’s the only thing that we did.”

The Batman is in cinemas everywhere from March 4th.
