SVU’ Fans Are Begging Mariska Hargitay to Be Careful After Seeing a New Instagram

EVEN WHEN SHE’S not fighting bad guys onscreen, Mariska Hargitay knows how to make her fans’ hearts race.

The Law and Order: SVU star recently surprised her Instagram followers when she ditched her usual TV crime scene to try out a different job for a good cause. To celebrate International Firefighters’ Day on May 4, Hargitay uploaded a video of herself fully dressed in fire gear while hanging from the top of a makeshift building in flames. As folks saw her make her way down the structure, she shared that the daring stunt was part of the Leary Firefighters Foundation (founded by Rescue Me actor Dennis Leary)’s 7th annual Firefighter Challenge.

So … This happened today,” she captioned the heart-pounding clip. “Wait for it … Thank you @learyfirefighters and @denisleary. What a day!”

While fans were immediately impressed with Hargitay’s daredevil-esque energy, they also voiced concerns. Namely, they pleaded with her to stay safe, as she recently received a clean bill of health after recovering from a July 2021 ankle injury.

“Don’t hurt yourself! I don’t think this is what your [doctor] meant when he said [you] were cleared to resume normal activities!” one person implored on Instagram. “Ma’am, your [doctor] is having a heart attack ????????,” a different user agreed. “???? Please do not hurt your ankle again queen ????,” another follower begged.

Despite the overwhelming fear from her fans, Hargitay proved nothing will stop her in the wake of a good cause. And she’s right to do so, as the Leary Firefighters Foundation’s website notes the organization works hard to provide the funding and resources to help first responders become better at their jobs on a daily basis.

What’s more, Hargitay wasn’t the only actor in the Law and Order universe to participate in the demonstration. Law and Order: Organized Crime star Christopher Meloni joined her for the occasion, giving fans a taste of his experience on his own Instagram.

Well, if Hargitay ever decides to take up a new job, she may have found her new calling.
