Good Clean Love/Uberlube
Even if your partner’s got that WAP, there’s no such thing as being too wet. That’s why you should always have a bottle of lube handy for vaginal sex, anal sex, and even masturbation (especially if you’re circumcised). Lube makes sex more pleasurable for everyone involved—unless, that is, you have sensitive skin, and you find yourself having an unpleasant reaction to your personal lubricant.
Just like other lotions and potions you put on your body, not all lube products are created equal, explains Michael Ingber, MD, a urologist and urogynecologist at Garden State Urology. When it comes to finding the best lube for sensitive skin, he recommends steering clear of products that contain “questionable ingredients,” including alcohols, glycerin, parabens, and propylene glycol.
Pro tip: If you’re not sure whether a lube will sit right with your skin, apply a small dab to the back of your hand before slathering it all over your nether regions.
Since no one is trying to break out or be in pain during or after sex, we came up with a list of 16 lubricants to try if you are your partner has sensitive skin. The lubes on this list are either expert-recommended, or we’ve tried them out (and loved them) ourselves.
And if you need further guidance on which lube to buy, check out our lists of the best water-based lubes, coconut oil lubes, all-natural lubes, lubes for anal sex, and products to use in a pinch when you realize you’re out of lube.
