Without fail, Al Roker always makes us chuckle.
On February 20, the NBC weatherman once again had us in stitches when he kicked off the week by discussing laundry habits with Craig Melvin, Sheinelle Jones, and Dylan Dreyer on Today’s third hour. “How often do you wear your clothes before washing them?” Al asked the group. After quickly agreeing that jeans can be worn multiple times, the foursome had different takes on pajamas.
Dylan shared that she’ll wear her sleeping attire at least three times before switching them out, while Sheinelle revealed that she occasionally falls asleep in her work clothes after a long day. Though neither Al nor Craig shared their own pajama-wearing routines, their reactions to Dylan and Sheinelle caught the attention of The Shade Room Instagram account.
“#AlRoker & #CraigMelvin ain’t with it ????,” the celebrity news company’s Instagram caption read, alongside a clip of the Today show moment.
After seeing the clip on The Shade Room account, Al seemed grateful for being featured on the Instagram feed reserved for the most popular celebrities. “Thank you, #shaderoom @theshaderoom for making us cool. How long do you sleep in your #jammies?” he wrote alongside a repost of the snippet.
When Today show fans spotted his hilarious response, many rushed over to his comments section to give their two cents. Despite folks feeling divided about the habits, some couldn’t help but focus on Al’s hilarious facial expressions during the on-air conversation.
“Al had to take the glasses off ???? he was baffled,” one person wrote. “Al’s facial expressions and Craig’s comments took me out ????????????????,” another added. “We need to protect Al [Roker] at all cost[s] that man is a national treasure,” a different follower said.
In case you’re wondering, Carolyn Forté, executive director of the Good Housekeeping Institute Home Care & Cleaning Lab, says that, generally speaking, pajamas should be washed every three wears or so. In other words, Dylan may have been right on the money about this one!
