In a new video on his YouTube channel, bodybuilder and fitness influencer Matt Morsia steps outside his training comfort zone and takes on a series of gymnastics challenges set by former Olympic medalist Nile Wilson. Also doing his best to show off m=his mobility and agility is World’s Strongest Man and Arnold Classic champion Hafthor Bjornsson, aka Thor, aka The Mountain from Game of Thrones, who has recently announced his return to the world of strength sports after transforming his body and retraining as a professional boxer.
Wilson instructs Bjornsson and Morsia in some gymnastic skill staples, including the jump and twist, forward roll, press-up and spin, toes to bar, and some ring work. Due to his sheer size, Bjornsson struggles with some of what Wilson sees as fairly simple moves—but then he sets his own challenge: arm wrestling.
“I really don’t want to break my arm,” says Morsia. “If I come out of this without any broken bones, I’ll be happy.”
Bjornsson, meanwhile, has his own stakes in the match. “I have to win this, for my own ego,” he says. “I’m bigger, I’m stronger, I feel a lot of pressure.” He concedes, however, that arm wrestling isn’t just about brute strength; success relies on technique.
Morsia holds out for a respectable amount of time, but ultimately Bjornsson does manage to beat him. Morsia is pleased with his technique though, and is able to easily defeat Wilson with minimal visible effort.
