Watch ‘Captain Marvel’ Star Brie Larson Crush an Abs Workout in a New Instagram Video

Brie Larson is taking things slow and steady in a new Instagram video. The actress, 32, shared a short clip of her most recent workout with Kacey Musgraves’ “Slow Burn” playing in the background.

In the video, Larson takes her time knocking out cable reverse crunches—and the vibe is weirdly relaxing despite Larson clearly having to give it her all. She captioned the post, “Working up to 10 reps, 3x at bodyweight. ????” Fans were quick to hype up the Captain Marvel star with one user commenting, “Strongest Avenger. ????” Another added, “What a #captainmarvel workout!????????”

Clearly, Larson isn’t a stranger to these workouts. In previous videos, she’s showed off her weighted squats, kettlebell squats, and planks, among other exercises. But she’s also game for a good fitness challenge. Last May, she shared a video of herself doing one-armed pull-ups.

As for her diet, back in 2016 Larson’s nutritionist Dr. Philip Goglia explained that while she was training for the most cardio-heavy scenes in Captain Marvel, she’d eat a teaspoon of almond butter or fruit jam in the morning. “The most recent science has shown that a little bit of fat and a little bit of simple sugar will actually increase intensity rate while you train early in the morning,” Goglia said.

He also revealed that eating snacks or “bridge meals” was the key to keeping her energy levels high. Her post-workout go-to meals included a protein shake or eggs, and for lunch, she opts for a plate of chicken and veggies. To end the day, she’ll have two more snacks before dinner and one more fruit-based snack.
