Watch Kate Beckinsale Crush an Abs Workout With Hanging Crunches

If you need the inspiration to get moving this weekend, check out Kate Beckinsale’s latest gym-stagram. The actress, 48, goes hard with her workouts, and the video she just posted proves it.

Hanging from a ceiling suspended ladder, the Underworld star effortlessly completes full rep crunches in the 10-second clip, captioned with a simple yellow heart emoji. And we aren’t the only ones impressed with her strength.

“Beautiful beast ????,” one person commented. “D*amn girl ????????,” someone else wrote. “Bad. Ass. ???????????? 100% inspo. #moveyourbody,” another added.

According to Beckinsale’s trainer Brad Siskind, she hits the gym six days a week. “The whole hour is work,” he told Women’s Health in 2019, and she makes sure to target every part of her body.

Some of her go-to exercises are bicep curls and squats done simultaneously or sit-ups and punches combined, she told WH. She also always includes 90 to 120 seconds of cardio in between each set, often going for rowing or climbing machines. Returning to her reps, she’ll increase the difficulty with resistance bands, weights, or speed. To finish up, she does cardio once more with a rubber Inertia Wave or one-leg pushes on a curved Skillmill treadmill.

To switch things up—especially when she’s on the go—she also likes to try out yoga or trampolining. She does boxing sometimes, too. “I haven’t been injured while doing an action movie,” she told WH. “And I think it’s partially from practicing yoga.”

When it comes to her diet, she used to be a vegetarian, but eventually found that she required hearty proteins like chicken and fish. Of course, she balances them out with lots of veggie-filled salads and grains, per WH.

But what really gives Beckinsale incredible results is her persistence and determination. Siskind told WH that she rarely misses a workout. “If she does, there’s a good reason,” he said. “Because otherwise, she’s crushing it.”

Like most of us, she sometimes struggles to get up and at ‘em in the mornings, but she’s always glad she does. “I start out absolutely dreading it, do an incredibly punishing workout, b*tch about it the whole time, and end up feeling 100% better when I leave,” she told Shape in 2016. “Working out is basically nature’s antidepressant.”
