Watch Sebastian Stan Dance With a Knife in ‘Fresh’ Audition Video

Sebastian Stan built an expansive and diverse on-screen resume before bagging the part of Bucky Barnes in the MCU, a role he has reprised multiple times in film and TV. Following his most recent outing in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Stan is once again stretching his acting muscles in a couple of different provocative projects.

Most notably, he can currently be seen playing Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee in the Hulu drama series Pam & Tommy, which dramatizes the leak of the sex tape the rock star made with his wife Pamela Anderson—but he is also garnering positive reviews for his performance in a movie called Fresh.

Fresh is a dark comedy thriller from first-time director Mimi Cave, in which “the horrors of modern dating are seen through the eyes of a young woman who is battling to survive her new boyfriend’s unusual appetites.” Stan plays Steve, a specialist butcher and the mysterious new love interest of protagonist Noa (Daisy Edgar-Jones).

Stan just shared a video of himself embodying the vibe of his character, not to mention showing off some relevant skills, which he captured during his first self-tape audition for the role and then sent to Cave way back in 2020. The various twists and turns of Fresh really deserve to be experienced first-hand (the film is now streaming on Hulu in the United States), but this amusing, slightly bizarre footage of the actor exuberantly gyrating and doing his best stabbing miming to “Teardrops” by Womack & Womack should give you some clue as to what you’re in for.
