Spoiler alert for the ending of Fast X.
The tenth installment in the Fast & Furious franchise (not counting its spinoff Hobbs & Shaw, of course) is now in theaters, amping up the stakes with even more high-speed chases, all-out fight scenes and gravity-defying stunts as Dom Toretto and co. prepare to say goodbye.
We already know that things aren’t quite over yet, with Vin Diesel having announced that the finale to the Fast saga has been extended into at least one more movie, possibly three, and confirming that Fast X: Part 2 is already in the works. And while the explosive final act of Fast X would certainly function as a satisfying ending in terms of many characters’ storylines, it also leaves the door open for more action.
And how else is a multi-million dollar film franchise going to tease a sequel, than in a post-credits sequence? In a move made popular by the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Fast X includes a mid-credits scene that sets up what could be a major plot point in Fast X: Part 2.
After the initial title and credits have played, we cut to a unit of police officers searching a building for the villain Dante (Jason Momoa), and it is revealed that one of them is none other than Luke Hobbs, played by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

We last saw Hobbs in the spinoff Hobbs & Shaw, in which his character teamed up with Jason Statham’s Deckard Shaw. Hobbs hasn’t been seen in the main Fast & Furious franchise since The Fate of the Furious, but in the mid-credit scene we learn that Dante knows Hobbs is the one who killed his father, and he is out for revenge.
Johnson’s return to the Fast saga is certainly a surprise, given his long-running beef with leading man Vin Diesel, but it looks like they have finally buried the hatchet—and we can likely expect to see Johnson teaming up with Dom and the rest of the team to take on Dante in Fast X: Part 2.
