IS IT safe to talk about Sunday’s episode of Succession yet? I’m not even talking about that part. No, I’m talking about the wedding of the century—congrats, ConWilla!
For an episode titled “Connor’s Wedding,” we actually saw very little of Connor’s wedding, but at least we saw what the groom was wearing whilst he was freaking out about Victoria sponge cake and making sure his bride-to-be wasn’t about to leave him at the altar. Everyone knows that, ludicrously capacious bags aside, the fashion on Succession is all about quiet luxury, and for Connor Roy—man of the people, kind of, and perhaps America’s future POTUS—that means a classy, slim-fitting velvet tuxedo jacket by Hugo Boss for his wedding day. And maybe Willa’s play truly bankrupted him, or maybe he’s just catering to would-be voters and Conheads, but the jacket is under $700—affordable, by billionaire standards, and cheap, by Succession ones.
In a sun-soaked, less-than-fairytale wedding on the Hudson River, Connor wore Hugo Boss’ Slim-Fit Tuxedo Jacket in Pure Cotton Velvet with a crisp white shirt, black tie, a boutonnière pinned to his silk-blend lapel, and a pair of non-velvet—but still black—pants. Grooms-to-be looking for wedding inspiration, I think you’ve found it: this is an infallibly elegant combination.

Like Connor himself (part-time philanthropist, questionable funder of the arts, potential future President currently polling at 1%), this tuxedo jacket is versatile as fuck. Wear it with a tie, like Connor did. Pair it with a bow tie, if you’re looking for something even classier. Hell, channel your inner Kendall and grab it in a bolder color: there’s dark red, purple, turquoise, and blue, too. Perhaps it’s too soon to bring this up, but honestly… this is even a jacket you can wear to a funeral. Oops—just saying!
And, yeah, that episode of Succession had a lot of jaw-dropping moments, and left us viewers with plenty to think about. Call me crazy, call me a Conhead, but me? Well, I’m still thinking about Connor’s wedding look.
