Just like its predecessor Indian Matchmaking, Jewish Matchmaking is a Netflix show that follows a number of singles as they try and find their ideal partner with the help of a matchmaker.
Aleeza Ben Shalom is the matchmaker for Jewish Matchmaking, and fans are loving her open and realistic approach to finding love. She first asks each of her client’s about what they’re looking for in a partner, from their level of religious dedication to their lifestyle to their looks. Aleeza then makes thoughtful matches, and she isn’t afraid to go back to the drawing board if something doesn’t work out.
Over the course of the show, we saw nine singles come to Aleeza to be matched, and each one went on a series of dates to find their soulmate. Every story varied, with some cringey, heartwarming, and lovely results. If you’re wondering what happened to each couple on the show, you’re in luck. Here, what happened with every pair from Jewish Matchmaking.
More From Men’s Health
Dani and David
Dani told Aleeza that she wanted someone who wasn’t super religious but still celebrated High Holidays and would attend Shabbat dinner, and she also noted great eyebrows as a must have. She was then matched with David, who also lived in Miami and is the founder of the Miami Sephardic Club. The pair went on two dates that went well, and when Dani had to head to Los Angeles for a friend’s wedding, they kept in touch. However, things took a turn once Dani returned to Miami. At a lunch with her friends, Danny recounted how David seemed uninterested in making concrete plans with her and how their communication had soured, and she was also concerned that he wanted someone who lived a more Sephardic lifestyle, while she is Ashkenazi. During their next meet up, Dani broke things off with David, and while he agreed that their difference in religious practices and lifestyles had led him to pause on pursuing her, in a very weird twist, he then asked Dani if she wanted to make out, which she called an “f boy move.”
Dani and Shaun
Dani and Shaun met up while she was in L.A., with Aleeza telling Dani that he was the male version of her. They went on a couple of great dates, and got along well, but their future seemed uncertain as Shaun lived in Hawaii, and he didn’t want to move to Miami.
Ori and Adi
Ori told Aleeza that he valued looks and ability to speak Hebrew in a partner, and so he was matched with Adi, an actress who had grown up in Israel but had recently moved to L.A. for more opportunities. Their first date went well, and he said she was beautiful, but on their second date where they went horseback riding, Ori insensitively called Adi “simple,” and she noted that they had very different personalities. Afterwards, Ori met up with Aleeza again to note his preferences which included “blue eyes and very beautiful,” and he insinuated that he wasn’t happy with Adi’s looks while trying (and failing) to say that he didn’t mean to be rude. But while Aleeza told him she would try her best to make him a new match, she also made sure to tell him that he needed to place as much importance on a person’s personality as he did on their looks.
Ori and Karin
For Ori’s second match, the two met up for lunch in L.A. and hit it off pretty much immediately. Karin spoke Hebrew as Ori had requested, and they seemed aligned in their wants and needs in a relationship. We didn’t see Ori and Karin go out again, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this match turned into something more.
Harmonie and Aron
Harmonie is bright, bubbly, and wanted a passionate partner that would allow her to be herself. Aleeza matched her with Aron for his stability and kindness. Harmonie and Aron met up twice, and while they had some great conversation and connected on their mutual desire to get married and have kids, Harmonie said she didn’t feel much passion. Meeting Aron did give Harmonie hope, however, as she said that it was good to meet a great, kind person, and it made her more confident that her partner was out there.
Harmonie and Adam
While Aleeza is a matchmaker, in a confessional she revealed that she wants her clients to be open to potential matches that come from other sources, and she’s there to guide them no matter what. When Aleeza, Harmonie, and Harmonie’s mother met up for lunch, the restaurant owner said he had the perfect man for Harmonie, and they ended up meeting for drinks in Florida. Unfortunately, it was evident pretty fast that Harmonie and Adam weren’t going to hit it off.
Harmonie and Ben
At first glance, Harmonie and Ben seemed like polar opposites, but during their date at a floral shop, they complemented each other well, and Ben made her laugh. We didn’t see another date between the pair, but the show left this relationship on a bit of a cliffhanger, as Harmonie said that while the “spark was TBD” you also “never know if your husband is standing right beside you.”
Cindy and Daniel
Cindy lives in Israel, and she told Aleeza that she wanted someone who keeps kosher and observes Shabbat, but was still a bit “flexidox” in their beliefs. She was matched with Daniel, and during their date they bonded over their strong connections to their grandmothers. On their second date, Daniel showed up late, which annoyed Cindy, and he also revealed that he had some beliefs that were a bit old-fashioned, which Cindy did not agree with. Aleeza then decided to take some time with Cindy to make sure that she was over her long-term relationship that had just ended eight months ago, and through the exercise Cindy realized that she needed to take some more time to heal and figure out what she wanted before she jumped back into dating.
Noah and Eliana
Noah lives in Wyoming, and he said that the small Jewish community was a bit of a hindrance to dating, which is why he reached out to Aleeza. He had previously lived in Israel and was a divorcee with a son, so he needed someone that would be okay with that. Noah also said he wanted someone that was okay with keeping kosher in the house, but was more flexible with eating out. Eliana and Noah went on an outdoorsy date before grabbing dinner, but she said that while Noah was a great guy, she was more of a city person. When recapping the date to Aleeza, Noah also said that Eliana had wanted someone that hadn’t been married before or had a child.
Noah and Ophir
Ophir was a better match for Noah, and they had similar religious lifestyles. Noah spoke candidly about his previous life in Israel and what led to his divorce, and Ophir was okay with the fact that he had a child. During separate confessionals during the episode, they both said they liked the other’s personality and they were excited to see each other again.
Fay and Shaya
Fay is a Brooklynite and an Orthodox Jewish woman, and she was looking for someone with good character and who was at the same religious level as she was. She was matched with Shaya, and it turned out that her family and his family had some mutual friends in common. Their first date went incredibly well, and she loved that he made her laugh. During their second date at an ice cream shop, they delved deeper into their religious beliefs, and Fay reiterated that she wanted someone who was as religious as her. After the date, Shaya met with his rabbi, who advised him that their difference in levels of religion didn’t mean that things wouldn’t work out. However, Fay later told Aleeza that it was a dealbreaker for her, and she and Shaya had mutually decided to stop seeing each other.
Nakysha and Ryan
Nakysha reached out to Aleeza because she wanted to get out of Kansas, but also because, as a person of color, dating was a bit tougher for her. She was looking for someone who wasn’t super religious, but would have Shabbat dinner and was okay with her being a motorcycle rider. Her first date was with Ryan at a roller skating rink, and while she wanted to see him again, he told Aleeza that he felt more of a friend vibe.
Nakysha and Evan
Nakysha’s next date was with Evan at a selfie museum in Miami, and they got each other’s sense of humor and easily fell into comfortable conversation. They humorously agreed to leave the cooking to Nakysha while Evan does the cleaning, and in the end credits, we saw some photos of the couple, which leads us to believe they may still be together.
Stuart and Hope
Chicago-based Stuart is a musician with a great sense of humor, and he was looking to settle down with someone who was culturally Jewish but not super religious, and he also expressed that he couldn’t be with anyone who was intolerant. His first date was with Hope, but he felt like she was a bit too religious for him, and their communication wasn’t what he had hoped it would be.
Stuart and Pamela
Stuart and Pamela hit off right away. She’s a comedian and Stuart likes to crack jokes, so they were able to banter back-and-forth right away. They also bonded when talking about losing their parents, and at the end of the date Stuart said he was looking forward to seeing her again and even mentioned that “it would be great if she was the one.”
Noah and Alyssa
Noah was one of the youngest people on the show, but he said he was ready to settle down. He had lived in a bunch of places due to the fact that his mother was a diplomat, but he went to university in Rome before settling in Israel. He told Aleeza he was looking for a partner that was adventurous, loved animals, and loved Italian food. He went on a date with Alyssa, but he didn’t like the fact that she’s a vegan with cats, and their date was a little bit awkward. He also uncomfortably noted that he doesn’t usually go out with “curly-haired girls.”
Noah and Gabriela
Noah then grabbed drinks with Gabriela and things were going amazingly well… until she revealed that she’s a health coach that uses muscles to diagnose what might be going on with someone’s organs, and she said she doesn’t agree with a lot of traditional approaches in medicine. Noah was a bit horrified, as he revealed that he comes from a family of doctors and that he could never introduce someone with those beliefs to his parents.
Noah and Tav
Noah and Tav actually first met at Aleeza’s home, and they got along really well. On their second date they talked about timelines and their vision of what they wanted their lives to look like, and while Tav currently lives in Arizona, they both seemed optimistic about the future, and they made plans to see each other again while Tav was still in Israel.
