Why Jackie and Josh Skipped the Season 4 Reunion

WE’VE ALL been there before. Waiting for something for days, with baited breath, just to see what happens, only for it to be a total let down, a mess-up completely out of our hands making everything into a disaster. That must have been the case for the countless fans of Netflix’s Love is Blind on the night of Sunday, April 16, 2023, as the show’s much-anticipated first-ever live reunion special turned out to be… well, not so live.

On top of the live reunion’s delay that turned into something else entirely, Love is Blind fans were surprised to learn that one of the show’s current couples—Jackie and Josh—were nowhere to be seen for the reunion. Sorry to anyone who thought there was still hope for a a Jackie and Marshall reunion, or even some closure, because the former duo didn’t even show up, instead opting to do a Zoom interview with co-host Vanessa Lachey the day prior.

This isn’t a huge surprise to anyone who’s been keeping up with Love is Blind, as Jackie and Marshall’s relationship had fallen apart, and she had instead started dating Josh.

However, Jackie made sure to clarify in an April 8 Instagram post that she and Marshall were broken up already by the time she met Josh in a coffee shop (as depicted in the show). “I am wearing different clothes, my hair is styled different and at the end of the video I say ‘I DON’T KNOW IF I AM GOING TO BE WITH JOSH,'” she wrote in the post. “I am not sure what the reason is for playing the coffee shop date before the break up but to restate Marshall and I were broken up before Josh and I had our coffee shop date.”

So we do know that Jackie and Josh are now together. But why didn’t they show up to the “live” Love is Blind reunion?

Why weren’t Jackie and Josh at the Love is Blind Season 4 reunion?

We don’t know the exact reasons why Jackie and Josh chose to skip the Love is Blind Season 4 reunion, but we do know that if they chose to watch it at all, they were likely watching on the same TV—because they now live together.

“Me and Josh are together,” she told People. “We’re moved in, and we’re starting our life.”

While they didn’t say why, exactly, they chose to do their interview in a pre-taped segment for the reunion rather than coming in the flesh, we can assume that it’s because Jackie and Josh simply wanted to move on and not indulge in any of the drama that would inevitably come with attending the reunion—and getting bogged into whatever would come next.

“I have grown within the last year,” Jackie told Vanessa Lachey in her pre-taped interview. “That person that I’ve seen was a totally different Jackie, to be honest.”

Josh seemed excited about what’s to come as well. “We’re taking our time with everything,” he said in the same interview. “Life comes at you fast and we don’t want to rush anything. I think sometimes, you can rush love. We live together now. We got a dog. We got a fish. I’m a girldad!”

One person who wasn’t excited? Marshall, who said during the reunion that he felt “slighted” once again by Jackie and the events of Love is Blind—after previously being left at the altar, now he was the only one around to share his side of the story.

Still, Marshall is ready, just like Josh and Jackie, to move on. “At this point, this is not about Jackie and Marshall anymore. Let that be bygones,” he said. “Let them move on, let me move on and just forget it. Jackie and Josh are happy. She’s happy. I’m happy. Let it die.”
