‘Yellowstone’ and ‘1883’ Fans Missed Tim McGraw Calling Out Shania Twain in Surprise Clip

As a legendary artist in country music, Shania Twain is used to other artists covering her work. But when Tim McGraw became one of them, well, she just had to comment about it.

In a video uploaded to Instagram, the 1883 star celebrated the release of Shania’s new album Queen of Me on February 3. As he stood in what appeared to be a hotel room alongside fellow musician Bob Minner, he surprised followers with an acoustic version of her hit single “You’re Still the One” from her 1997 album Come On Over. As for why he chose to perform that song, he explained it had to do with his love for the track.

“@bobminner and I had some fun covering this @shaniatwain classic a few weeks ago,” he wrote the day Shania’s record dropped. “Always been a big fan … can’t wait to listen to the new album!!”

Shortly after Tim added the clip to his social media, it immediately caught Shania’s attention. Given the fact that he called her out in a heartfelt way, she answered back with an equally appreciative response. “Gorgeous!! ????,” she replied.

Because the two don’t often interact, folks were thrilled to see Shania comment on Tim’s tribute video to her. What’s more, it inspired many to take to the comments section on Instagram with one specific question in mind.

“You guys need to record it together!! ???????? please,” one person wrote. “Can he please join you on stage in Nashville to sing this ????,” another asked Shania specifically. “Would love to see you, @faithhill and @thetimmcgraw all together in a concert. My 3 favorites. ????????????,” a different follower said.

Although it’s unknown if they’ll actually team up for a duet, it’s not the only time they’ve interacted. In the early part of both their careers, Shania and Tim appeared on the 1999 ACM Awards stage to present Vocal Group of the Year to the Dixie Chicks. Judging by the video, Shania’s love for eclectic fashion and Tim’s love of Stetson hats haven’t changed at all.
