Cole Hauser’s time as Rip Wheeler on Yellowstone is winding down, but he just found a major reason to celebrate.
Less than a month after fans learned that the Paramount Network series was canceled and it will end with season 5 part 2 later this year, the actor shared incredible family news on Instagram. In a post uploaded on May 22, he announced that his son Ryland recently graduated high school. As folks saw the teenager pose in a college shirt while standing in the family living room, Cole also revealed that the high school football player plans to attend Texas Christian University come the fall.
“So very proud of my first born boy,” he captioned the photo. “Can’t wait to see your next chapter in your life @ryhauser @texaschristianuniversity … go gettem killer!”
When Ryland saw the heartfelt tribute his father posted about the major milestone, he left his own emotional reply. “Thank you @cynhauser and @colehauser22 for creating me into the man I am today!” he responded while referencing his mother and Cole’s wife, Cynthia Daniel. “You have done an amazing job raising me, showing anything is possible if I put my mind to it! Can’t wait to go chase my dreams and put words into reality!”
Like the Dazed and Confused alum, fans were equally excited over Cole relishing in his son’s accomplishment. “Congratulations [and] enjoy this new ‘season’ in their lives [and] yours,” one person commented on Instagram. “Congratulations❗️???? happy beautiful family full of love ????????,” another added. “Go Frogs!! ???? ???? Congratulations from a fellow alum!” a different follower said, mentioning the college’s mascot and football team.
As Cole’s family settles into a new era with Ryland in college, the actor is entering his own new chapter. Folks know that the final episodes of Yellowstone will air sometime in November, wrapping up the lives of the modern-day Dutton family on the Yellowstone ranch.
What’s more, Deadline reported that a new spin-off will premiere in December with Matthew McConaughey leading the series. The outlet also noted that “a handful of original Yellowstone cast members” may pop up there, meaning we may have more time with Rip than we realize.
